Alongside our swimmer of the year award, our final honour is in recognition of a swimmer the team feels has performed outstandingly despite any challenges and obstacles they may face.
Outstanding achievement of the year 2024 Isaac Morgan-Butler
Here are some words from Isaacs instructor, Lucy:
As well as living with SEN, Isaac also suffers with epilepsy, experiencing multiple sometimes incredibly long seizures and cerebral palsy that effects and limits the use of the left side of his body.
However, nothing stops Isaac or slows him down! After just a few short months of lessons Isaac began swimming at a stage 4 standard, adjusting strokes and breathing patterns to work with the use of just one arm.
Isaac does not know the words ‘I cant’ and instead perseveres and works hard so that he can say ‘I can!’.
Isaac gives absolutely everything his best go and has a genuine love and talent for swimming. Isaac leaves me speechless every time he swims and has shown me that swimming can, and should be, accessible for all. Isaac, you are a pleasure to teach and a joy to have in the water. I can not think of anyone more deserving of this award.
Congratulations from not only me, but all of us here at Duck N’ Dive.
